Engage Kiss

The original TV animation “Engage Kiss” aired from July to September 2022.

An unpredictable romantic comedy featuring Shu, a useless man, Kisara, a yandere demon, Ayano, an ex-lover, a scruffy man, a demon and a woman.

It was broadcast as a summer 2022 anime and became a hot topic alongside ‘Lycoris Recoil’ (hereafter ‘LycoReco’) in the 2022 summer anime. The production of ‘Engage Kill’, a smartphone game set in Baylon City after “Engage Kiss”, has also been announced and is open for pre-registration at the time of writing this article.

This report focuses on the appeal of the TV animation “Engage Kiss”, which is officially put forward by Fumiaki Maruto x Tsunako x A-1 Pictures.

My interest in “Engage Kiss” came from information on the internet. This is because, when researching ‘LycoReco’, we found comments like “Engage Kiss” is also good, although it tends to hide behind ‘LycoReco’.

Mr Maruto is known for his romantic comedies. The romantic comedy element was also essential in this anime, “Engage Kiss”, and was gripping, with some tricky descriptions unique to “Engage Kiss”. The story as a whole has a good balance between seriousness and comedy and is recommended for all.

Tsunako

His best-known work is ‘Date A Live’. She is the character designer for “Engage Kiss”. Other well-known works include the ‘Hyperdimension Neptunia’.

The characters drawn by Tsunako work well with and look good in animation. If you know the ‘Hyperdimension Neptunia’, Kisara in “Engage Kiss” might start to look like a goddess!

Subsidiary of Aniplex Corporation, part of the Sony Group. Hit titles include ‘The Idolmaster’ series, ‘Sword Art Online’ and ‘Kaguya-sama: Love Is War’.

It is widely known among animation fans for its stable, no-holds-barred image of consistently producing hits. In the summer 2022 anime season, ‘LycoReco’ is also produced by A-1 Pictures.

‘Baylon City’ – a mega-floating city in the Pacific Ocean, not part of any country. In this city, which mines the new energy resource ‘Orgonium’ and is the most remarkable in the world, there are many special incidents caused by ‘demons’, known as ‘D-disasters’.

Shu, a young man living in Baylon City, runs one of them, but,
