Being inspired is a natural part of the creative process. However, we must not forget to respect it. When we forget that feeling, we can easily go beyond the scope of inspiration. It would be good if the creator himself knew that he had exceeded the scope of this inspiration, but the scope of inspiration needs to be seen objectively.

The editorial department is responsible for this objective role. This time, the editorial department admits that it did not carry out sufficient checks before the work was published, saying that ‘the checks within the editorial department were not sufficient for distribution’. I think this is the main problem here. There were inadequacies in the checking system within the organisation and team of ‘Tonari no Young Jump’.

So it is not as if the author has no problem with it. However, it would be meaningless to ask the author himself whether he plagiarised, because if it is within the scope of inspiration in his mind, it is not plagiarism. However, it is certain that the author forgot to respect the work.

The fact that allegations have surfaced in past works means that there have been deficiencies in the checking system for some time. I hope that this time around, ‘Tonari no Young Jump’ will establish an adequate checking system and stay next door as a place for encountering works of new sensibilities and new characters.
