A new music and music video production project for Haruhi Suzumiya’s new book ‘Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekijo’, due for release on 29 November, has been decided. The first goal is 10 million yen and the second is 15 million yen, which will include 3D models of Nagato and Mikuru.

Haruhi’ is legendary among the author’s generation, and the anime “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” (first season) was broadcast in April 2006. The author had not yet encountered anime at that time, and the author remembers taking courses in re-runs. At that time, it was said that every otaku knew about Haruhi, and one of my few otaku friends told me that if you met an otaku for the first time, it was OK to start the conversation with ‘Do you know Haruhi? But what about the current generation of otaku? I wonder if it is still a compulsory subject for otaku and a legend.
A cover of ‘Hare Hare Re Yukai’, the ED of ‘The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya’, was used in the ED of episode 4 of the anime ‘Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian (Roshidere)’, in connection with the original work. This became a big topic of conversation, and in the author’s opinion ‘Haruhi’ is still a legend in the otaku world.
